That's one-half of Reception:

Erica and Pat try and fail to advance their careers and find belonging in a 2022 COVID world.

Lots of silliness, lots of humiliation, lot's of comedy! 􏰡􏰐􏰃􏰁 􏰔􏰐􏰅􏰂􏰅􏰃􏰓􏰇􏰥􏰅 􏰲􏰁􏰐􏰋􏰂􏰓􏰐􏰇􏰥􏰅􏰳 􏰓􏰉􏰅􏰥􏰋􏰃􏰅 􏰘􏰉􏰎􏰂􏰥􏰅􏰉 􏰁􏰉 􏰔􏰇􏰉􏰅􏰈􏰯􏰃 􏰐􏰈􏰃􏰐􏰦􏰂􏰃􏰉􏰋􏰖 􏰥􏰈􏰔􏰉􏰓􏰅􏰃􏰂􏰈􏰔 􏰂􏰋􏰋 􏰃􏰁􏰉􏰅􏰉 􏰔􏰐􏰌􏰌􏰉􏰓􏰉􏰈􏰃 􏰙􏰓􏰇􏰥􏰏􏰅

What's the other half?

Each episode tackles a separate social justice issue.

For instance, at the end of the pilot, Pat is arrested for being drunk in public, and wakes up in jail in episode 2. So, the theme of that episode focuses on how folks who go to jail are received.

Pat's desperate to understand how to write these people in jail, because he knows they're more interesting than he is -- but now to write the 'other' faithfully in 2022?

In this way, Reception not only examines relevant social themes, but the theme also pushes the plot along because Pat will take what he's learned from these folks in jail, incorporate it into his writing, but with disastrous (hilarious) results because he doesn't intimately understand all these different groups.
